By stephanie - June 15, 2015
On Sunday, newportFILM will screen the film “Muscle Shoals,” a Sundance-entry music documentary about Muscle Shoals, Ala., where American record producer Rick Hall founded Fame studios and created 1950s songwriting successes with musicians like Brenda Lee and Roy Orbison. The documentary features commentary by Aretha Franklin, Greg Allman, Mick Jagger and others. The event will feature a live performance by Muscle Shoals native Jason Isbell and a post film Q&A with director Greg “Freddy” Camaler and producer Steven Badger moderated by Michael Dunaway, editor at Paste Magazine.
