Saturday morning, hear first-hand accounts of the Civil Rights Movement from locals who participated. Eight Rhode Islanders will gather to share their memories of the historic days of the 1960s and recount their involvement. They will provide a comprehensive perspective on the Rhode Island connection to the movement and how the collective spirit and effort of marginalized American citizens compelled the United States to broaden its identity. Confirmed speakers will include Michael Van Leesten, Malcolm Farmer III and Rev. H. Daehler Hayes.
