Lincoln is a town in Providence County, Rhode Island full of natural beauty and a variety of attractions. Voted the 63rd “Best Place to Live and Launch” in the country by CNN Money, Lincoln’s smaller size and close proximity to major cities makes it a prime location to start a business and a great place to live.
Because of its excellent school system, Lincoln is a desirable place to raise a family. The town has six public schools and over 3,000 students total. Lincoln Senior High School was voted the 4th best high school in the state by U.S. News & World Report, earning them a silver medal.
There are plenty of activities for families to do around town, including spending a day at the Lincoln Woods State Park. Open since 1909, residents and visitors alike can take part the park’s many attractions such as swimming in its freshwater beach, fishing, hiking, biking or horseback riding. The park also has separate horse and bike trails and there are Little League fields that can be reserved. Eastern Mountain Sports Kayak School is located in the park and offers lessons and kayak tours.
Lincoln also has more adultcentered entertainment with Twin Rivers Casino, open since 2007. Previously Lincoln Greyhound Park, the facility not only has gaming areas but an event center, restaurants, food courts, bars and a racebook.
Formed in 1871, Lincoln has a rich history which can be seen through its real estate. Several Colonial homes including Stoneenders still exist around town. Many homes for sale are historic buildings from the 19th century—many which have been renovated but still retain their charm. Lincoln has homes in a variety of price ranges from luxury properties to modern Capes. Condominiums, townhouses, single and multifamily homes are styles that can be seen around town for sale.
