While only a 15 minute drive from downtown Providence, Barrington is more than just a suburb, it is small town living at its best. Located along the northern edge of Narragansett Bay and criss-crossed by two rivers, the town overflows with luxurious waterfront estates as well as homes in every price range. The East Bay bike path runs through the town linking Providence to Bristol. The town is home to the Barrington Yacht Club and the Rhode Island Country Club, which hosts the annual CVS Caremark Charity Classic.
Barrington’s school system consistently ranks at the top of the list for Rhode Island creating a draw for households with school age children. The town center offers coffee shops, restaurants, markets, boutiques and other services. Neighborhoods include Alfred Drowne, Rumstick, Hampden Meadows, Roberta Plat and others, all within biking distance of the town center. Homes for sale in Barrington consist mostly of single family homes constructed after 1950, although some Victorians do exist.
